So far this year, I’ve been trying to follow a healthier diet. A healthier diet starts with breakfast, and I have been making this Honey Yogurt Breakfast Parfait most mornings.
I’ve been limiting portions and most importantly, sugar. To limit portions, especially with lunches I bring to work, I have been using some very specific containers to limit the amount of food I can bring to work. So far, I’ve been feeling much better overall, though with maybe slightly less energy. I expect that will correct itself as I get used to eating less and eating healthier.
One of the ways I have set out this healthier diet is to make it more routine. I eat the same thing each day for breakfast and snacks throughout the day. For breakfast, I have been sticking to this Honey Breakfast Yogurt Parfait.
- Mason Jar
- Plain yogurt
- Fresh Fruit
Making Your Honey Breakfast Yogurt Parfait
The night before, gather the fresh fruit and get it washed and cut up. At the bottom of the mason jar, add two or three large spoonfuls of yogurt. Add in about a tablespoon of honey. On top of that, add in your fruit. I have been sticking with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. In the morning, stir everything up and enjoy.
One of the great things about this is the versatility. I use plain yogurt and honey, but there other options. Vanilla or strawberry yogurt would be good too. The key is find a yogurt that is low in sugar. You could add in some cinnamon too to add a little more spice to it.
Like a lot recipes, this one serves as a base. I’ve almost never found a cookbook or internet recipe that I left alone and didn’t modify to suit my tastes.
