This week in the Weekly Favorites, I am looking at all things hamburgers! The hamburger is a classic summer food and with summer now in full swing, there is nothing better to talk about!
How do you like your burger? Do you like it piled high or just a single patty? Do you like it with a lot of toppings or just a simple burger? Mayo or mustard? And the ultimate question, do you like bacon on your burger?
No better way to celebrate 4th of July than with a good burger. That’s exactly what we did, along with some sausages and hot dogs and the usual sides of pasta salad, beans, and potato salad.

Some nerdy hamburger statistics for you, in case you’re interested. That’s a lot of cows! I’d like to be the rancher responsible for all of those cows!
Hamburgers are in the top five foods eaten on the 4th of July holiday. In 2020 there were 94.4 million head of cattle and calves in the U.S. cows accounted for. #beef #hamburger #AgStatshttps://t.co/0kfmY1b2Vk pic.twitter.com/wf7GPriL8N

This is my idea of a night out, not a fancy restaurant where I have to dress up and behave. There are nights for that, but I’d rather just go out to a quiet place and relax! Think pub food.
Side note, do you prefer your hamburgers with french fries or potato chips?

Don’t get me wrong, I do like an elaborate hamburger with fixings piled high. But, the best hamburger is the simplest hamburger, with no frills or crazy toppings.
